"The 2021"

On Saturday, April 10, 2021, I purchased a 2021 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium Fastback in Carbonized Gray with 47 miles on her.  I traded in my 2006 Stampede Edition Mustang #351 after 15 years and 68K miles. I did not want to trade in Trinity (the Stampede), but I needed a more reliable (and warrantied) vehicle.  I won't tell you what they gave me for it as it is both depressing and shocking, but it did make a good down payment on the 2021 Mustang.

Side by side... Saying goodbye. 2021 is on the left;  2006 is on the right

Taking delivery of the 2021 Mustang.

I've been trying to decide on a name and a basic idea of where I want to take this Mustang.  Will it be a show car or a daily driver?  I already have two other hobbies - photography and scuba diving - and they are expensive enough.  Now I have this blank slate to work with, and I think I will keep her close to stock with some basic add ons like some axel-back mufflers and caliper covers, window louvers in black, and maybe the rear window louver as well.  I'm not sure about that one.

This one is a 2.3L I4 Ecoboost at 330 HP from the factory.  I'm sure there will be things I want to add to the engine, but I have to learn about them first.

The interior is awesome!  Going from the 2006 to the 2021 was a major technological leap.  There is tech in the car that I only dreamed of with the 2006.  I met up with my best friend, Diana, on Sunday, April 11, 2021, and together we broke 100MPH in a test drive.  We also did some donuts in the school parking lot by Diana's house.

This last image is the one I keep looking at the most.  There are no emblems on the car's sides—only the pony in the grille and another on the rear of the Mustang.  I'm tossing around the idea of putting a black stripe on it with a red pinstripe, but so far, a lot of the pictures I've seen of the Carbonized Gray 2021 have had red calipers and the black stripe.  I've seen some with the red pinstripe as well.  I like the look, but I'm not sure I want to go that route if it has been overdone already.

I will probably leave her stock for the first 6 months or a year and then add on to her here and there.  We'll see. :)

Here is the link to the VIN Decoder with Mysty's VIN.  It lists all of the bits and pieces of her.  :)
